Utilities

New businesses will need to contact the respective utility providers at the location of the establishment.  In some instances,  the landlord may include one or more utility services in the monthly rental.   The tables below list the utility provider in each of the communities and in the unincorporated area of the  county.   For assistance in identifying a utility provider, please contact the Greencastle/Putnam County Development Center.

Several of the electric and natural gas utilities offer energy conservation incentives and technical assistance.  In some cases, assistance may also be available to incorporate energy saving features into new construction.  Links to incentives can typically be found on the business page of the utility website.

Several of Putnam County’s telecommunications providers such as Endeavor Communications, MetroNet and TDS Telecom offer high speed, high bandwidth fiber based telecommunications options to allow small businesses to connect with customers, suppliers, and colleagues globally.
